Dead Heat Print Copies

After an anxious couple of weeks of waiting for my proof copies of Dead Heat, to be published through Amazon CreateSpace, they have finally arrived. At first glance, they look very good but I will make some changes to the text – I had forgotten to take out the navigation chapter section and it’s pointless keeping it in because there are no page numbers (which need to be inserted anyway).

Secondly, I’ve decided to add an About the Author page at the back and put in some promotional stuff for upcoming work (Dead Lock which seems to have hit the skids, and Salmonweird which I hope to release by the end of the year if not early next year).

These changes mean that I have to go through the proofing stage again, which is fine, as I am happy to wait until I am perfectly happy with the print version before unleashing it on the world. Just a little frustrating that the print copies are dispatched from the US and take several weeks to arrive.

News on pricing and availability will be very soon too!

  1. They look great, and I remember that excitement, on seeing your own story, in print, for the first time. Even in our digital age, there’s something special about a ‘real’ book. But don’t worry, once you’re over the proof stage, your book will be printed whenever it is ordered, or near enough anyway. People who order a copy will receive it within a day or two, just as with any other printed book on Amazon. The author is the only one who ever has to wait weeks!
